Our mission is to quantify and optimize human health and performance by creating the world’s first database of integrated human data, using our patented data acquisition technology and world-class data science to view an integrated biometric picture that was previously never possible. 

 

We are an early-stage startup seeking a brand builder and startup operator who clearly visualizes the bigger picture and possesses tremendous capacity for the finest of details. We are looking for an energetic and passionate individual who can maintain the rapid tempo of the executive team. As a marketing expert and leader, you must be capable of propelling our efforts to further refine our brand, drive revenue, and transform our company into a customer-product driven enterprise. You will own and grow the top of the funnel.  

 

You will be a critical part of our senior leadership team, working directly with the executive team daily, reporting to the COO and managing the existing marketing team. We have a high performing team that has a sense of humor and does not take itself too seriously. You will be empowered to set a direction and make decisions with relative autonomy as micromanagement does not fit our company culture. You will have at least two (2) direct reports to start. The position is full-time and relocation to the metro Denver/Boulder area is STRONGLY preferred for culture building. 

Essential Functions
  • Oversee all marketing functions 
  • Build our startup brand into a highly visible national brand 
  • Drive revenue growth from >$1M to >$50M in annual recurring data revenue 
  • Design and lead implementation of growth strategy for different audiences (healthcare, fitness/performance, and government) from first horizon to third 
  • Research, define, size and prioritize new target market segments. Identify and clarify key customer benefits, core value propositions, ROI metrics, marketing KPIs and success characteristics. 
  • Be the expert on Cipher Skin’s prospective customers in each segment, how they buy and their buying criteria and use this knowledge to inform our brand, marketing programs, business development, and product roadmap. 
  • Gather and quantify feedback from investors, partners, the market, the industry, and the competition to continuously guide our product roadmap and confirm we’re blazing the best trail 
  • Identify our actual and potential competitors and evaluate their strategies. Assess their relative strengths and weaknesses and devise counterstrategies. Educate our team on competitive positioning strategies 
  • Refine our messaging that communicates our value proposition and differentiates the company effectively to partners, customers, and potential investors. Ensure every communication touchpoint reinforces Cipher Skin’s brand proposition and resonates with investors, partners, and customers. 
  • Define, test, and fine-tune our pricing to ensure we’re maximizing revenue while creating win-win relationships with happy customers. 
  • Be the external facing spokesperson for Cipher Skin Inc. 
  • Effectively evangelize Cipher Skin and our partners’ success with key influencers in the press, and industry communities to boost awareness and establish our thought leadership position. 
  • Lead media efforts across both brand and performance campaigns and identify efficiencies between the two 
  • Partner closely with Product and Engineering teams to build campaigns and solutions that drive business growth 
  • Manage existing marketing team: marketing generalist and digital marketing specialist 
  • Lead rapid experimentation of new channels, campaigns, creative, incentives, and approaches for the purpose of building scalable solutions 
  • Monitor and present ongoing marketing metrics to the executive team 
  • Participate in the quarterly and annual planning of the company’s objectives with the executive team

This position is responsible for generating qualified opportunities through developing and vetting leads for all channels, from all sources.  Maintaining the pipeline of qualified opportunities as well as sharing and communicating opportunity status with company leaders. Provide ongoing customer success to existing and potential customers and suppliers.
Essential Functions
  • Identify new business opportunities for Cipher Skin
    • Researching organizations and individuals to find new leads
    • Vet all leads from all sources
    • Contact potential clients/customers to establish rapport and arrange pitch meetings
    • Implementing/Planning new marketing initiatives

    • Represent the voice of the customer to provide input into every core product, marketing and sales process
    • Serve as the primary contact for the onboarding of new customers, the training of platform end users, as well as post go-live support

Work Environment

This position is based in Denver, CO but will require remote access as well as person-to-person cold-call interaction – travel and overnight stays may be required. Use of a personal or Company automobile may be required.  

Preferred Education and Experience
  • At least 8+ years business development and customer success, preferably in enterprise physical therapy products, orthopedic and sports medicine products, or health data platform products
  • Demonstrable experience growing revenue from >$1M to >$50M
  • Early stage technology startup experience and success is STRONGLY preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and CRM knowledge
  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year College or University. An undergraduate engineering degree is preferred
  • MBA is STRONGLY preferred

What You’ll Do
  • Own software features of the iOS/Android App: build, deploy, iterate. You’re responsible for what you’re building, and you have some creative control over the direction you take
  • Ship code to production frequently, often daily
  • Work at all levels of the stack – infrastructure (GCP, Kubernetes), database (PostgreSQL, Redis, ElasticSearch), services (Node, Python, Celery, TensorFlow, Keras), and frontend (React, Redux)

What You’ll Do
  • Design, build, and verify PCBAs integral to new R&D project initiatives.
  • Write, optimize and maintain over time FW code.
  • Maintaining communication within the development team.
