Dr. Guido Gioberto, an expert in wearable technology, joins us from from the Bay Area.   He is a leader in the industry and was essential in building a groundbreaking smart garment capable of measuring human performance, for Athos.  He played a key role in the development of the garment’s hardware, specifically, waterproofing and quality of the electrical connections. Over the course of five years his role spanned across several functional areas including: software, research & development and marketing.

Guido completed his Doctorate in Computer Science at the University of Minnesota in 2015, introducing a new theory and approach for body sensing. During his doctoral studies, he co-authored 17 publications as well as was granted one US patent on a “Stitched stretch sensor”.

Prior to his doctorate, Guido completed a master’s degree in Electrical Engineering at the University of Minnesota in 2011, a master’s degree in Telecommunication Engineering at the Polytechnic of Turin (Italy) in 2009, and a bachelor’s degree in Telecommunication Engineering at the University of Palermo (Italy) in 2006.

Dr. Gioberto is relocating to Denver with his wife, two children, and chocolate lab Luigi.  He is originally from Marsala, Sicily.
